As Chief Operating Officer (COO), Birendra Sasmal sets and evolves the strategic direction for the company and its portfolio of offerings, while nurturing a strong leadership team to drive its execution. Biren has nearly three decades of global experience in the IT services and Telecom industry with a strong track record of driving digital transformation for enterprises, executing business turnarounds and managing successful acquisitions.

Most recently, Biren was a member of the Group Executive Board at Subah holding, where he held the position of CEO and MD. He was responsible for the strategy and execution of these businesses – setting direction and enabling rapid client adoption. Subah scaled from 5 to 1500 employees company within 6 years.

In his earlier role as President & CEO at AFL (A BT company), Biren was widely credited for bringing scale and value to the organization's Indian operations. He was the architect of the company's growth and turnaround strategy, and was instrumental in setting up their offshoring capabilities.

In addition, Biren has co-founded technology companies that were successfully acquired by venture capital firms.

Biren has received numerous prestigious international awards. He was named "Asian Business Person of the Year, 2017" at the Asian Achievers Awards in London, UK for demonstrated business excellence, innovation, growth, and the highest standards of ethical integrity. Biren is a member of the International Telecom Union (ITU) and the United Nations agency for information and communication technologies (ICT). As a member, he has been a speaker and panelist in the ITU annual conference forum, where he presented key topics including Smart Digital Transformation, Developing Human Capacity for Digital Era and Sustainability of SME in competitive market.
